What Are Dermal Fillers?

We use hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers. Hyaluronic acid fillers are used to plump and shape lips, restore soft tissue volume loss, and soften lines and folds to contour the face.

JUVÉDERM® Collection of Dermal Fillers

At Ultimate Beauty Medspa, we use a variety of cosmetic dermal fillers to add volume and contour to the skin. The JUVÉDERM® Collection of Fillers offers 5 different products to meet your specific needs. JUVÉDERM® is a cosmetic facial filler made of hyaluronic acid, a substance that exists naturally in the human body and can add volume to plump lips, smooth lines, or lift & contour cheeks—we have what you need to get the results you want.

Radiesse®

Most dermal fillers are made with a naturally occurring substance called hyaluronic acid (HA). Radiesse® is made with calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA), which is stiffer than HA gel fillers and therefore provides good support in areas such as the nasolabial folds, chin, and jawline. So, what sets Radiesse® apart from HA fillers? Collagen is one of the most essential components of firm and healthy skin. The calcium hydroxylapatite solution in Radiesse® helps your body produce more collagen for results that only get better over time. This means treatment with Radiesse® will continue to work after your initial procedure is over.

Radiesse® has recently become one of the only FDA-approved dermal fillers to be used in the hands as a means to add volume and youthfulness. The CaHa acts as a scaffold to support your skin’s weakened structure and promote new collagen. Over a span of 2-3 years post injection, the CaHa is completely metabolized while new collagen grows in its place. The effects of Radiesse® when used in the hands, can be seen immediately and can last 9-15 months.

Radiesse® has also proven to be effective in helping with neck rejuvenation. Your provider will determine if you are a good candidate and the number of treatments needed. Typically, one syringe of Radiesse® would be injected in the neck area with a recommendation of two treatments, spaced one month apart.

RHA® Collection of Designer Fillers

The RHA® Collection is made with a gentle manufacturing process. This gentle process helps preserve the natural structure of the hyaluronic acid, allowing it to more closely resemble the natural hyaluronic acid in your skin. The natural hyaluronic acid in your skin helps provide moisture, volume, and structure to your skin. Over time, your skin produces less hyaluronic acid. There are three formulations in the RHA® Collection, and your provider will help you determine which one is best for your treatment plan:

RHA® Redensity – Treats moderate to severe wrinkles around your lips and mouth
RHA®2 – Treats moderate dynamic wrinkles and lines usually found around your lips and mouth
RHA®3 – Reduces moderate to severe wrinkles and folds around your face including the nose and mouth
RHA®4 – Adds volume to the contours of your face to treat severe wrinkles and folds

Dynamic wrinkles and folds appear in areas of the face that move repetitively. Your face is dynamic, making millions of movements and micro-movements every day. Movements like squinting, frowning, laughing, and talking create dynamic wrinkles and folds. These wrinkles and folds can be difficult to treat because dermal fillers may cause the area to appear stiff or unnatural when the face moves. The RHA® Collection is designed to be resilient enough to adapt to your facial movement, which may provide a more natural look at rest and in motion.

Prior to Procedure

Prior to the procedure, you will have a consultation with our experienced injector to examine your skin, review your medical history, and explain the procedure and what to expect. Once it is established that you are a good candidate for dermal filler injections, we will create a tailored treatment plan and recommend the appropriate number of units. Our experienced injector will determine the best dermal filler for you.

What to Expect and Post-Care

Treatment lengths vary based on the area or areas treated. Areas that are most commonly treated with fillers are the eyes, cheeks, lips, jawline, chin, nasolabial fold (smile or laugh lines), and temples.  Results are visible immediately after treatment. The healing process involves swelling and possible bruising and depends on your body’s reaction to the treatment. Please plan at least two weeks before any event.  The final result will be seen after the product settles and the body is healed, usually two to three weeks. The results can last anywhere from 6 months to 24 months, depending on the months, swelling lines, area treated and amount of product used.
